Why Light and Sound Share One Cue Sheet

Description

Lighting and sound compete for the same resources: power, rigging points, and crew attention. Planning lighting and sound in San Antonio as one system prevents quiet conflicts, such as a speaker stack blocking a lighting truss. Outdoor stages near the River Walk add heat, wind, and tight load-in windows to the equation. Event Ignition builds a single cue sheet for both disciplines, so a lighting change and a musical hit land together. Rehearsing that sheet once at full volume reveals timing gaps that quiet tests never show. Crews also stage spare cables and a backup dimmer channel, because small parts cause most small failures. The audience never sees any of it, which is the point.
